How would you describe your shop’s vibe?
Established in 2013, Barber Bros & Co have taken traditional barbering to another level. While our patrons are waiting, they are exposed to a unique barbershop vibe that has a warm friendly feeling, and which oozes old-charm with timber, exposed brick, vintage tiles, enamelled lights and a 100-year-old cash register. A big screen TV broadcasts live sports from around the globe, and a Bose sound system plays background music from legends such as Ray Charles, James Brown, Frank Sinatra, Elvis Presley or Otis Redding, without inhibiting conversation. Last, but not least, 10 traditional barber chairs take centre stage which have been sourced from the US and restored to their former glory. The oldest chair dates back to 1907, thus imagine the thousands of stories that are ingrained in the souls of those chairs. It all comes together to create a masculine vibe, where a man can feel like a man, be comfortable and share camaraderie with both staff and fellow patrons, while sipping on complimentary beer or whisky.

What’s your most popular cut at the moment?
Our most popular cuts are college contour, executive contour and high/low razor fades. But if we had to pick one that is currently in trend with our patrons, then it would be the high/low razor fades.

Why did you get into Barbering?
The respect for traditions and heritage of barbering is what drove us into barbering in the first place. We believe, barbering is not about fashion, but about style and tradition.
It is important to take the time to educate our patrons about a by gone era and to also introduce them to traditional, age-old barber products. The favourite aspect of barbering is when we turn up at the barbershop in the morning, and there is a line of customers already waiting for us to open up so they can get a sharp, ruthless and rad haircut or a hot towel straight razor shave.
What also makes the barbering enjoyable is meeting people, listening to their stories and getting an opportunity to create a relationship with every single one of them. Follow Barber Bros & Co for more
